Wind Chimes

Wind chimes are one of the most common decors that we first notice whenever we enter a house. Simply because they are usually hung on the door itself or on the outer frame and its cheerful sound as the door opens, greets and welcomes the guest. These chimes come in different styles, designs, sounds and materials. But more than the aesthetic and security purposes they provide, do you know that wind chimes are used as powerful tools in “channeling the home’s energy” in certain ways? They are one of the most widely used Feng Shui tools and the cheapest too as chimes’ materials can be sourced cheaply.

Feng Shui experts explain that chimes can certainly purify or enhance the flow of “chi” or energy in a certain area depending on the location where they are hung, on the sound and on the material they are made of. For example, there is a dark corner in the room which needs to have more energy and attract chi to it, placing bamboo wind chimes would not only attract chi energy but also enlighten and give life to that dark spot. Another one, if the path from the street to the front door is long and straight just like the pathway leading to our Little Mansion, hanging a wind chime by the door (or porch steps) slow the chi down so it enters the home gently.

Here’s another compilation of Feng Shui notes that I’ve listed down for my future reference when I “accessorize” our new home of wind chimes:

1. North is associated with stillness, quiet, and isolation and therefore not favorable for a home’s entrance (north-facing entrance). To counteract this, Metal and aluminum wind chimes can attract more activity and enhance chi in this area.

2. West is sometimes called the children area. A hollow chimes’ sound in this spot can promote harmony within the family, and positively influence the health, behavior and academic performance of children. For those wishing for a family addition, activating the chi area here adds chances of having a child.

3. Northwest is the perfect spot to hang wind chimes when aiming to attract helpful and influential friends or mentors.

I searched on the web for stylish wind chime designs and Outdora has the widest and nicest reasonably priced collection of wind chimes not only for indoors but for the garden and exteriors as well. Here are the ones that caught my fancy:

The developer who happens to be our wedding principal sponsor (thus, the complaisance and flexibility) gave us the go signal to canvass in a local construction supplies and tile shop for Little Mansion’s walls and flooring. Together with the husband’s aunt interior designer, they went to Wilcon Depot last month and here’s what they tentatively came up.

This isn’t the final list as we’re yet either to go back to the shop or browse online for the two bedrooms’ flooring which might probably parquet floor types.

Party and Event Planning.

It may be too premature to plan or even think about it but as early as now, I can’t help but wonder how and when the Little Mansion’s housewarming party will be like. Honestly, I am so clueless what needs to be done, what to prepare and what is expected during a housewarming party aside from the blessing and a little feasting after. It’s that kind of a party that’s very seldom most of us get invited since, well, let’s face it, it takes a lot of sweat, blood and tears (figuratively) before one can have a place that he can call his own and therefore, such parties are very rare. But however it will be, I’m sure that I’ll be in charge with that, whether I like it or not. Probably, I’ll ask assistance from my sister who works as a purchaser for a company and is tasked in handling some of their site’s major events. Maybe she’ll be able to shed some light since she already has a deep background in corporate event planning.

Speaking of events planning, I’ve never seen an event specialist that covers wide integrated event services as Dynamic Event Solutions does. My research about events planning lead me to their page and it’s interesting to find out how they can be a one stop shop for one’s all event management needs from planning, creative services, production, technical, entertainment, logistics to even decors.

“Low Maintenance” Wife

You can go and ask The Husband but I’m really one “low maintenance” wife. The most expensive I wished from him was a laptop, but it’s something worthwhile..a necessity in my line of work. I don’t wish for branded and expensive bags (because I seldom go out anyway) nor luxurious travels..especially when I know that we don’t have the means. Or even if we have the funds, we’d think a gazillion times first if it’s the right time or should we allot the money instead to our topmost prioritized project which is Little Mansion. On special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas, the husband need not go through catalogs and find “unique gifts for her” stuffs because he already knows the simple things that would make me feel like I’m in Cloud 9: a book from my fave author, new shoes and apparels and a special dine out meal.

He’s His Own PR Agency

For local Kapamilya fans and even for TFC subscribers worldwide, I’m sure you’ve heard about the soon to rise condotel and mall, Wil Tower Mall. As a joint project with another big time politician, the co-owner and show host, Willie R, surely doesn’t need intense marketing campaigns and endeavors anymore because his presence and own plugging on the show would suffice already. He has so much fans following him worldwide that less efforts in selling is needed.

Condominiums are sprouting like mushrooms in the last decade. Before we got Little Mansion, getting a condominium unit was our second option. I even started collecting flyers and took a look on the web about the recent pricings and projects that are being put up. But since we’re really interested in getting our own house and lot, I didn’t pursue the research that much. Perhaps, if these condominiums are placed and marketed very well like how a certain San Diego California PR agency (J Public Relations) does, we would have been lured to check out more and who knows bought one instead of a house and lot. J Public Relations are the specialists and experts in getting the top media placements for their clients through customized campaign projects and more.
