I hold back myself from regretting the purchase of washing machine we did two weeks ago. Having a limited budget, we just bought a dual tub semi-automatic washing machine. That’s the type that we’ve been using in my folks’ and in my in-laws’ houses so practically, that’s the only type I was exposed to all this time. How I wish I’ve done my research first. It’s just recently that I learned about Fully-Automatic Washing Machines. Although, I’ve heard a bit about it from friends in the past but I did not pay attention to them. Also, I cringed when I learned that it costs about 12K and up. I guess the impression on the price shut me off from researching about it further. And so here I am, after learning how effective, fast and a lot convenient a fully-automatic washing machine is, I feel like wanting to sell the one we bought and buy the more advanced one. I believe that albeit it’s more expensive, it’ll be worth it. Again, another lesson learned, not all cheap and inexpensive things are practical.
In a nutshell, a fully-automatic washing machine lets you soak, wash, rinse and spin dry clothes in a jiffy. All you just have to do is stuff in the clothes then just take it out for further drying. While a semi-automatic one lets you soak and wash, manual rinsing then back to the machine for drying.
But on a second thought, hmm no..I’ll give the semi-automatic one a chance. Besides we have so much expenses and credit card debt settlement to take care of now. Once we get fully settled and adjusted, then that’s the time I’ll upgrade the appliances and stuffs of our dear Little Mansion.
Priorities!

Hmm..this is so tempting and I must say, very timely. We’re set tomorrow to buy the last big ticket items in our To Buy List for the Little Mansion. That includes the fridge, water dispenser and washing machine. I think the husband would also like to look for a digital frame for the living room. He just likes the functionality of this gadget..being a decorator at the same time, an album. I heard that there are mall wide sales this weekend so here’s hoping we’ll get to snag some generous discounts or cool deals from our favorite appliance store.
And oh, tomorrow, we’ll transfer some more stuffs to the new home.

One of the things I am excited about in our new home is the new air conditioner that will be installed in our bedroom. The heat and humidity are really too much to bear these days that it will make you want to stay in a cooled room all day long. However, you can’t do that unless you’re game to be surprised on how much your electric bill will balloon up to. Speaking of electric bills and consumption, I’m glad to have kept in mind these tips when we shopped for our aircon. Unmindful of the brand, we got the perfect aircon at the best deal. Perfect meaning great features and the most important of all, has a high Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) as tested and certified by an energy auditing firm. We can have peace of mind using it for extended hours without having to worry about our electric bill.

The ticker shows the temperature and humidity we’re toiling now as we’re bound to retire the night. The temperature this afternoon was way hotter and I think the worst and hottest Manila has ever recorded. I felt like I was being steamed like a dumpling or lounging on a sauna. Too bad, our room here in my in laws’ house is not equipped with an air conditioner so just imagine how my son was so drenched in sweat while napping and me so irked and could not concentrate with my work. The husband thought I was joking when I popped over at YM and commanded him to bring their office aircon home or find along his way an air conditioning richmond va. I do pray that tomorrow will feel less hot especially that I have an errand to do after lunch. Nevertheless, I’m preparing my sunblock, shades, fan and an umbrella as my defense against the tormenting heat of the sun.
Speaking of air conditioner, I have mentioned in my last blog post that we’ve already bought the air conditioner for Little Mansion’s Master Bedroom. It’s a 1 HP window-type aircon that can be operated dually, either manual or with remote. It’s one of the inexpensive brands in the aircon gallery of SM Homeworld. We got further 5% discount for paying cash and snagged a set of 3pc towel as a freebie for every aircon purchase. This is also one of the reasons why we’re so looking forward to move this summer. So we can somehow escape the heat by enjoying a cooled air in our room courtesy of “Gree”.

Last Holy Week, we took advantage of the work break and we did a general cleaning of our bedroom. We also took the chance to unearth the stashed home appliances and kitchen stuffs that were gifted to us on our wedding a few years ago. We dusted and checked each one of them, take note of the models/specs and see if they were able to withstand the long storage time. We also made a list of the stuffs that we already have as well as created a shopping list for things that we don’t have. The school break is a perfect timing because my MIL permitted us to use the Kinder 2 room to serve as our storage room for Little Mansion stuffs before the big move. Here’s a picture of the husband checking out a rice cooker.
We were also able to buy two major appliances last weekend and as a good online friend coins them, they are Little Mansion’s Easter gifts. We’re really grateful for bonuses and payday loans, they’re indeed a big help in this time that we’re sprucing up the 90% done Little Mansion. (We’re yet to drop by this afternoon at Batasan and check the progress of the house). This is a crucial time for our savings, our credit cards, my paypal, our wallets. Luckily, we’ve been steadily blessed in the past few months so the expenses are not yet wallet draining so far. We do not have monthly amortizations to pay at the moment so it’s still pretty bearable. Speaking of amortizations, that’s what I’ll be busy about this coming week. I’ll be occupied collating loan documents and praying fervently that it’ll get processed and approved the soonest.
This weekend, we’re bound to buy another major item in the Appliance Store. Hopefully, we can get a good deal again just like our aircon and TV purchases last week. It may be hurting our wallets big time but shopping for LM stuffs is actually one of the most exciting parts.
