We are always called to save and scrimp on every purchases we made. However, settling for the cheapest and discounted items do not always guarantee high quality, craft and durability. As in the case with our bed linens, buying discounted and cheap beddings do not assure the right comfort that we all desire to have a good and relaxing night sleep. In the end, it’s always a realization that if you want high quality things you pay high quality price. In simpler terms, you get what you pay for.

Luxury linens are an investment in every home that not only adds comfort but warmth as well. Bedrooms are our private sanctuary and we want to make the best it can be. Luxury sheets transform a room to an elegant and sophisticated bedroom. At the end of a tiring and stressful day, don’t we all yearn to lay down on the most comfortable bedding to unwind and soothe our tired body?
Versai is a home to the most complete selection of fine linens and Luxury bedding in the world. All of their linens are made of finest quality and luxurious materials like Giza quality textile, Egyptian cotton yarns, cashmere, wood fiber and silk. For those who do not mind shelling out that much as high quality is their primary objective, Versai has a wide selection of quality blankets, down comforters, pillows and bed covers in whichever style one prefers like solids, checks and plaids, lace, quilted and so much more. They have those perfect pieces to transform an ordinary bedroom to a luxurious room as that of a King.

Sleeping is an important part of life. Without getting enough sleep, you can have trouble concentrating on normal, day-to-day tasks. You can also compromise your health, because a lack of sleep raises the stress levels that your body is under. You can become more susceptible to disease and lower your immune system when you are sleep-deprived. The good news is that you can catch up on your sleep and reduce your disease risk. One of the best ways to get more sleep – and better sleep – is to have a comfortable bed. When you don’t have a bed you like, you can get aches and pains. You may also toss and turn all night and not feel rested when you wake up.
If you’re sleeping on a twin bed, you might not have enough room to really stretch out and get comfortable. If that’s the case for you, you may want to consider getting a double bed. You’ll have more room to relax, but you won’t get such a big bed that you won’t have any room in your bedroom for a dresser or anything else. When you fill a room with nothing but a bed, it can feel crowded, actually make you frustrated and upset. You won’t sleep well, that way.
A double bed can be a great compromise between too big and too small, and it has plenty of room for one or two people. That way you can enjoy spreading out and relaxing, or you can share your space with a loved one. Double beds aren’t unreasonably heavy, and they’re easy to set up. One person can usually do it on his own, so he won’t have to wait for a friend to help him if he’s anxious to get the bed set up and get a good night’s sleep.

We do not need a twin bunk bed yet in our new house since we just only have one child at the moment. There is a room that has been allotted for him already but we’re still co-sleeping now so we’ll just leave the room as it is first. Perhaps, we’ll make use of it as a storage room of his clothings, other baby stuffs and toys for the mean time. But even though we don’t see the immediate need yet, I’m currently looking at Mom’s Bunk House now basically just to have an idea of what type of bunk beds for kids that we might implore in the future.
The bunk beds wood are the best choices to maximize space when kids are sharing rooms with each other. The Twin Over Twin style is the most common as it’s sleek yet it can occupy two individuals. Other styles include the Twin Over Full and the Full Over Full which are the more wider and bigger as it can accommodate more occupants. These are the perfect beds for kids as they also have security features that protect the child from falling from it. The ladders are designed is such a way that they can easily climb up to the top of the bed.
The wide selection of beds at Mom’s Bunk House is truly impressive. As it is a family-based company, they certainly know and can relate exactly to the needs of a family in terms of comfort, functionality and space-saving requirements.

We received a great news yesterday from the Little Mansion’s Developer. I’m going to share what that is in the next days. Meanwhile, we can now say that it’s about time to buy the furniture and other big ticket items for the house. So tomorrow, after visiting an Uncle in Law who’ll be celebrating his birthday, the husband and I will make a trip to our favorite (read as “suki”) Chinese furniture retailer in Roosevelt Avenue. We’ll be checking and hopefully we’ll be able to buy a couch for the living room or a sala set. We’ll also see if the dining table we saw last year is still there. Then, of course, bed frames and mattresses. It’s still unsure if we’ll buy a new queen size bed frame or we’ll just have to bring along the current one we’re using here at my in laws’ place. Still unsure. It depends on how much will be left on the budget. But we’ll be surely buying a single bed frame for the second bedroom. In the course of my search for mattresses online, I’ve read about these Tempurpedic beds and how it was tested to be a better form and brand compared to other like Bragada beds. It claims that the tempur material is engineered to be temperature and weight sensitive, energy absorbing and pressure relieving. I’m going to check if the shop carries that brand. If there is none, there’s another brand I think that is also raved as a good Memory Foam Mattress. I’m going to research further on that so I’ll have a good option tomorrow.

Last Friday, we dropped by Little Mansion to check how everything is going. The house isn’t 100% done yet but from the looks of it, they’re already on the finishing stages. I’ll detail later on the recent development and additions.
Remember my post about our Ideal Cabinet System? Well, we are not having exactly the same design but it’s close enough, somehow. I like how ours turned out actually. This is just the initial frame and there are some more additions to be made on both sides.
What’s important is that we have ample storage spaces for all our stuffs and other trinkets…and mess. That’s one thing that my older sister reminded me before. Make sure to allot storage areas especially that we have a kid and also to anticipate family additions in the future. No, there are no birth announcements soon from us. But we just deem it necessary to also think of the future especially that it will be our home for the next decades and perhaps, for life. Glad we didn’t pursue with the original bedroom layout plans. Otherwise, we would not have this huge space for the customized cabinet that we requested.

The ticker shows the temperature and humidity we’re toiling now as we’re bound to retire the night. The temperature this afternoon was way hotter and I think the worst and hottest Manila has ever recorded. I felt like I was being steamed like a dumpling or lounging on a sauna. Too bad, our room here in my in laws’ house is not equipped with an air conditioner so just imagine how my son was so drenched in sweat while napping and me so irked and could not concentrate with my work. The husband thought I was joking when I popped over at YM and commanded him to bring their office aircon home or find along his way an air conditioning richmond va. I do pray that tomorrow will feel less hot especially that I have an errand to do after lunch. Nevertheless, I’m preparing my sunblock, shades, fan and an umbrella as my defense against the tormenting heat of the sun.
Speaking of air conditioner, I have mentioned in my last blog post that we’ve already bought the air conditioner for Little Mansion’s Master Bedroom. It’s a 1 HP window-type aircon that can be operated dually, either manual or with remote. It’s one of the inexpensive brands in the aircon gallery of SM Homeworld. We got further 5% discount for paying cash and snagged a set of 3pc towel as a freebie for every aircon purchase. This is also one of the reasons why we’re so looking forward to move this summer. So we can somehow escape the heat by enjoying a cooled air in our room courtesy of “Gree”.

Now that the Little Mansion is nearing its “finishing” stage, we’re ready to take into action the interior design plans that we’ve thought of and as recommended by a creative aunt-in-law (she took up Interior Design in college). We’ll be prioritizing the bedroom furniture as it’s included in the package and needs to be finished ahead. What’s great about this is that we’re given the freedom to “design” or layout how the customization of the cabinet will be like having in mind the dimension of the space allotted for the said furniture. I have a copy here of the design draft but I’ll be sharing it next time once I have scanned it.
But just an overview, here’s the model we’ve drawn inspiration from a bit. It’s a cabinet system from Ikea, actually. If only this is not too huge and shipping from abroad isn’t that costly, I would have ordered a similar one.

And here are just some of the details:
I only have a few pairs of shoes and so is the husband so a few plastic shoe boxes with zipper enclosures on the top level would just be perfect. Then the lower shelves could be used for our folded daily home clothes. I do not own that plenty of bags, too, so instead, that portion could be perfect for bed linens or towels. I also love how the rack hanger is designed. The slideable pants hanger is simply brilliant. Certainly, that part is reserved for the husband’s slacks, pants and our jeans. I like how it’s made to just occupy half of the compartment’s width. The other half’s intended for long clothes like dresses and coats. And of course, the storage with compartments are perfect for our accessories like sunglasses, belts and other trinkets that we have.
I tend to become disorganized and messy with things at times so I really need a cabinet system that’s as organized and tailored as this.

Okay..now it’s crunch time. I haven’t met the required number of tasks I’ve scheduled to finish by this hour. Well, I got hooked and didn’t notice of the winding time as I just browsed nonstop for furnishing ideas for the house and researching tips on losing abdominal fat. I may be as skinny as a bamboo to the envy of many but the bulging tummy isn’t just right and unpleasant.
I may have lounged too long at home decorating sites but I feel accomplished. I found the exact design I wish to show our contractor for the kitchen cabinets. Also, I got some more bedroom cabinet inspiration. With the tons of clothes that we three have, it’s a requirement that we have ample spaced yet compact closet.

Whoever invented this type of bed is a genius. These are specifically for those who have space and closet problems in their bedrooms just like us. Since we’re just living with the in-laws temporarily, we don’t have enough space to store all our stuffs: clothes, bed and bath linens, tons of toddler toys and even the brand new and unused kitchen stuffs and appliances gifted to us on our wedding. Apart from having just a small bedroom, we also have limited closets. These Storage Beds address this dilemma. As the name suggests, it is a space saving trundle only the lower part is specifically made for storage purposes. (Pictures via http://www.time4sleep.co.uk)

The “little mansion” is designed to have 3 bedrooms on the second floor. But we’ve requested the developer to just have 2 bedrooms for a start so that we’ll be having a bigger master’s bedroom. My son’s too little anyway to have his own room. It’s very timely that I have read this article about Bedroom trends for 2010. Hubby and I will have a guide and reasonable options in bringing these two bedrooms “updated” and à la mode in terms of styles and designs perfect for this year.
* Bold Bed Linen – the easiest way to bring up the bedroom with bold colors are through bed linens with vintage-y bright florals or sugared pastels.

* Elegant Headboards – go for a super-chic style and elegantly designed headboards ala-boutique hotel style. On colors, a palette of sleek greys and blacks and an accent colour, such as yellow or lime do the trick.

* Statement Beds – remember those Georgian type of beds with poles and ceilings..beds that of royalties. Classic but remember to infuse a modern touch for a twist.

* Feature Walls – Feminine floral wallpapers are perfect for creating a soft, romantic feel.
