Okay..now it’s crunch time. I haven’t met the required number of tasks I’ve scheduled to finish by this hour. Well, I got hooked and didn’t notice of the winding time as I just browsed nonstop for furnishing ideas for the house and researching tips on losing abdominal fat. I may be as skinny as a bamboo to the envy of many but the bulging tummy isn’t just right and unpleasant.
I may have lounged too long at home decorating sites but I feel accomplished. I found the exact design I wish to show our contractor for the kitchen cabinets. Also, I got some more bedroom cabinet inspiration. With the tons of clothes that we three have, it’s a requirement that we have ample spaced yet compact closet.

Whoever invented this type of bed is a genius. These are specifically for those who have space and closet problems in their bedrooms just like us. Since we’re just living with the in-laws temporarily, we don’t have enough space to store all our stuffs: clothes, bed and bath linens, tons of toddler toys and even the brand new and unused kitchen stuffs and appliances gifted to us on our wedding. Apart from having just a small bedroom, we also have limited closets. These Storage Beds address this dilemma. As the name suggests, it is a space saving trundle only the lower part is specifically made for storage purposes. (Pictures via http://www.time4sleep.co.uk)

The “little mansion” is designed to have 3 bedrooms on the second floor. But we’ve requested the developer to just have 2 bedrooms for a start so that we’ll be having a bigger master’s bedroom. My son’s too little anyway to have his own room. It’s very timely that I have read this article about Bedroom trends for 2010. Hubby and I will have a guide and reasonable options in bringing these two bedrooms “updated” and à la mode in terms of styles and designs perfect for this year.
* Bold Bed Linen – the easiest way to bring up the bedroom with bold colors are through bed linens with vintage-y bright florals or sugared pastels.

* Elegant Headboards – go for a super-chic style and elegantly designed headboards ala-boutique hotel style. On colors, a palette of sleek greys and blacks and an accent colour, such as yellow or lime do the trick.

* Statement Beds – remember those Georgian type of beds with poles and ceilings..beds that of royalties. Classic but remember to infuse a modern touch for a twist.

* Feature Walls – Feminine floral wallpapers are perfect for creating a soft, romantic feel.

The Little Mansion we’re likely to own has just a limited floor area. So to maximize space, furniture such as these transparent Jolly Side Tables may really create an illusion for more area. Perfect as a side table in the bedroom, living room or even in the porch.

Our soon to be “little mansion” is figuratively small. I’m just coining it as a “mansion” because it’s our very own “palace” only in a small-scale. The space is not really a concern because, after all, it’s just in the perspective and in the interior that we can make it huge by maximizing the limited space. The use of functional and stylish Futons can address this concern. They make a stylish seating by the day, and by night they can be converted into beds.
Luck is on my side as I chanced upon great deals and promos on the web. I can use these Affordable Futons Coupon Codes for further discount on the wide array of Portolino Futons on sale. I just have to consult the husband’s first and agree on a specific design that we can order.

As previously blogged, I really have a penchant with blue-colored or blue-themed rooms. I’ve come across a site that says the cool color of blue can actually make a small space appear bigger as it appears to recede from the viewer.
Here are just a few inspirations I pooled from my favorite home interior blogs:

Sub-consciously, emotionally and mentally, our perceptions of colors affect and influence us. Colors affect our moods.
Blue is calming and soothing. Its different shades can be strong and steadfast or light and friendly. Interior designers say that blue is a good color for bedrooms because of its cool, calming effect and it can help you sleep. However, too much blue could dampen spirits as the phrase “feeling blue” conveys.
The color blue has always been my favorite. According to an online quiz that I took, blue is my primary color and it symbolizes that I am a sensitive and reflective person..which is actually true.
Here are some of the blue inspired home inspirations for our future little mansion.

One of LM’s three bedrooms is already reserved for Asher. We’ll let him sleep though in his own room come the time when he’s capable to do so perhaps in three years time or more. But as it is, the second room will be decorated and designed child-friendly.
Here are some guidelines for parents in making a childproof bedroom:
1. Use childproofing devices such as corner cushions, plug and outlet covers, cabinet slide locks, toddler gates and finger pinch guards to ensure safety.

2. Check all materials used in furnishing, painting, and decorating your child’s room for hazardous substances such as lead, splinters, etc .
3. Paint. Use eco-friendly paints. Be sure to get rid of awful odor of a newly painted wall before letting your child come in or stay inside the room The odor can irritate your child’s sense of smell.
4. Flooring. Carpeted, wood flooring, area rugs or rubber mats: it actually depends on the parents but do know that each has its pros and cons. Carpeted floors may cushion a child’s fall but may harbor bacteria that cause respiratory problems in kids like common colds.
5. Walls. Do not hang any decor in a baby or toddler’s bedroom because these may fall on him.
6. Window treatments. Allow natural light into your baby’s room. Blinds cords must use use cord shorteners. Curtain’s length must be kept short to keep your little one’s playful fingers from tugging at them. Be sure to change frequently cloth curtains as these can harbor dusts and other allergens.

You Are Most at Home in the Bedroom
|

You’re the type of person who finds sanctuary in your home. Your home is your private space.
While you may be a social person outside the home, it’s very rare that you invite people into your home.
There’s nothing like spending time alone in your bedroom – relaxing and reflecting about your day.
You truly treasure your time by yourself. You need to be able to recharge every so often in order to thrive.

This is so true and I couldn’t agree more to what it says.

You might have noticed that I have been MIA for the past few days. Well, the reason is we’ve been so busy offline as we transferred abodes from my folks’ home in Makati to my in laws’ here in Frisco. So from the former setup of staying here during the weekends, we’re now boarding here for the whole week. We’ve transferred most of our things from Makati so our weekend was spent fixing and re-arranging our tiny room to accommodate all our stuffs. We have to relocate outside the computer table and a couple of furniture we used to have here in the room. Then we bought one more closet drawer since the little one has so much clothes now. We moved furniture and with the husband’s great “interior designing” skills, we managed to fit them all here and in fact, even brought up more play space for the little one.
This is also in preparation for the little mansion project which, we believe, is not to far away from coming true.
