Wouldn’t you want to stay in the bathroom all day long if it is designed similarly to any of these:

Aren’t they all just grand and astonishing? These are the bathrooms that really stand by the meaning of the other term coined to them: “comfort room”. Because it’s truly pampering and relaxing just lounging by the tubs and jacuzzis. The interiors are lovely and these are the perfect areas to relax after, let’s say a tiring day or after going through a stressful reviews of your expenses like bills, term life insurance dues, mortgages, taxes, etc.

I fancy the first bathroom’s fireplace and the LCD TV perfectly positioned across the tub. I love the modern Balinese style of the second bathroom as well as the inviting recliners. I love the simplicity of bathroom number 3. Squeaky clean and purity are the instant perception. The lighting effects of the last bathroom plus the carpet-like look of the tiles and the comfy seat makes you think that you’re in a living room and not inside a bathroom.

If I win the lottery and construct a new house, I’ll make it a point to design the bathrooms exactly as the pictures above.

The World’s Most Expensive Home.

It’s a slow Saturday night and so to perk me up while I’m conditioning myself to toil on my pending online works, I thought of googling the world’s most expensive homes to date (for inspiration). I’m really surprised and amazed to find out that the number 1 in the list as of April 2010 was built in an Asian land. The “Antilla” House which is reportedly to be the first $1 billion home in the world is specifically located in Mumbai, India. It is a custom-build 27 story towering mansion and the home of the world’s fifth richest man, Mukesh Ambani.

The details are just astounding: six floors for parking, 3 helipads, 600 servants, double height ceilings, ballrooms, crystal (and perhaps, diamonds) studded chandelier ceilings, luxurious and grandest bedrooms, bathrooms and lounges; nine elevators in the lobby. Wow! It truly is the most spectacular home the world has ever seen.

My Library.

I’m admittedly, in a way, a book lover. I never fail to buy the latest book that my favorite American author releases each year. Although I may not be able to read as often as I would like nowadays because of my hectic work, I’ll still continue buying book additions to my collection. That is why, in our Little Mansion, I’ll see to it to have a bookshelf of my own where I can place all my pocketbooks, cookbooks, parenting books, home and living magazines and other interesting promotional items reads.

And for my son, who’s also into early fondness of books, he’ll also get to have his own shelf..his very own mini-library.

Now I wonder which among the pictures below will be our inspiration for our “libraries”.

2010 Bedroom Trends

The “little mansion” is designed to have 3 bedrooms on the second floor. But we’ve requested the developer to just have 2 bedrooms for a start so that we’ll be having a bigger master’s bedroom. My son’s too little anyway to have his own room. It’s very timely that I have read this article about Bedroom trends for 2010. Hubby and I will have a guide and reasonable options in bringing these two bedrooms “updated” and à la mode in terms of styles and designs perfect for this year.

* Bold Bed Linen – the easiest way to bring up the bedroom with bold colors are through bed linens with vintage-y bright florals or sugared pastels.

* Elegant Headboards – go for a super-chic style and elegantly designed headboards ala-boutique hotel style. On colors, a palette of sleek greys and blacks and an accent colour, such as yellow or lime do the trick.

* Statement Beds – remember those Georgian type of beds with poles and ceilings..beds that of royalties. Classic but remember to infuse a modern touch for a twist.

* Feature Walls – Feminine floral wallpapers are perfect for creating a soft, romantic feel.

The Twilight: New Moon House

Does this living room look familiar?

If it doesn’t, it only means that you haven’t seen yet the latest movie craze in town, Twilight: New Moon. Although not really new because the first wave of Twilight fever hit last year. So it’s more of a craze resurrection, I guess. Actually, even if you haven’t seen the movie, this set would still look familiar because Bella’s Party Scene at the Cullen’s house is among the inviting scenes they feature on the movie trailer. A little trivia about the Cullen House from New Moon:

- It wasn’t shot inside nor is a part of the original Cullen House in Twilight or the so-called The Hoke House
- This is located in West Vancouver, Canada
- Built in 1950’s, this was originally designed by Arthur Erickson and restored by Brian Hemmingway
- This house is for sale at $3,298,000 by the real estate agent Jason Soprovich
- It has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms
- It has a total floor area of 5,117 sq.ft. and lot area 20,690 sq.ft.

Better Bathrooms

The department store’s home section has become one of our must drop-by points whenever we go malling during weekends. We don’t have news yet from our developer regarding the housing loan approval but it’s never too early to start canvassing home furniture and appliances for our future little mansion, right? All the more it keeps me excited but at the same time, I think, I’m giving myself unnecessary pressure and overwhelmed thoughts because there are just too many lovely inspirations and ideas that I get.

Among the sub-sections, the racks and area for the bathroom has the most limited time visit. Why? Simply because this particular mall that we go to has just minimal options. This convinces me that we might just browse or if circumstances allow, perhaps order online for furniture and accessories, at least, for our bathrooms. By the way, I’m just excited that we’re having a couple of bathrooms in our future little mansion. (We’re used to having just one in our present and even former homes).

I have already bookmarked several websites but so far, Better Bathrooms stands out to be the best not only in terms of their huge bathroom suites selections but their affordable prices and clearance sale rates can not simply be missed. One great thing about shopping for bathroom suites from them is that they also supply the coordinating tiles giving a whopping 20% savings. Now one can practically build and design his dream bathroom with Better Bathrooms.

You know that I go for anything blue so I’m off to check if they have similar border tiles and designs such as shown here in my dream bathroom design:

Camp John Hay Rental Lodge

Wouldn’t it be lovely to spend a vacation here? So quite and serene as opposed to the colorful world of Las Vegas Shows.

This is one of the rental lodges at Camp John Hay in Baguio I took shot of December last year. The chimney, the wooden veranda, the homey and laid back style…everything about it is just so perfect. I don’t have an idea how much the rental costs for a night but I’m pretty sure they’re steep. Camp John Hay has several cabins sprawled in the vast land of the camp and I think this is one of the recent additions. In fact, it was still undergoing construction and completion during the time that we were there before the Holidays.

It’s near the mini-golf course that we played at and instead of concentrating on the game, the shutterbug in me struck again so I took every pleasant things that our “Nikky camera” aimed at and shoot. Even the husband was awed and elated how lovely this house is and agreed that we will indeed own a similar resthouse in the future. Perhaps, even better, bigger and nicer. There’s nothing wrong with dreaming, right? It is free anyway. Who knows, our wishes and dreams will come true someday. By that time, we don’t have to book and stay in hotels whenever we go up to enjoy the cool city breeze of Baguio.

The Black (and White) House – The Sinus House

You may find this house unappealing from the outside because of the dark colored walls.

But hold your thumbs down sign because look what it got inside.

Don’t you just love the bare yet simple, contrasting black and white look?

And look at the dining chairs, the colors match the grass outside. Perfect color combination inside and out.

See the green basin sink? It brings ultra modern look to the residential kitchen, don’t you think?

The Hoke House

If you have seen the movie Twilight, then it wouldn’t take you a second to recognize whose house is this?

It’s the Cullen’s!!!

The Cullen House, supposedly located just outside of Forks, WA, is actually known as The Hoke House or the “Nike” House. It was designed for Nike executive John Hoke and his family and was designed by architect Jeff Kovel via ‘Skylab Architecture’ it’s 4300 squares, built by Metcalf Construction, with Lucy Metcalf as the interior designer and landscaper.

Don’t you just love the interiors and exteriors of this modern vampire house?
