Condo Unit or House and Lot

I think I haven’t mentioned here that before we took actions in making Little Mansion a reality, we were greatly challenged with the options we have. While it has always been a long time dream, the timing of the need to go to step 1 was actually abrupt due to a series of tough circumstances we were made to deal with. Right then, we were pressured to make a move. A house and a lot has always been our plan but due to the timing, a condominium unit came as a close option. We have nothing against condos especially if yours are as nice as Petersburg VA condominiums, but I have always dreamed of having our own lot, our own little nook that is readily accessible without riding a lift to get up to your place such as that of lofts Petersburg va. Of course, this just my personal opinion and everyone of us have our own preferences. There are advantages and disadvantages but the bottom line, whether it be that it’s a condo unit or a house and lot unit, what’s important is to have a safe and comfortable shelter (like Petersburg va homes) that you can call your own.

“Low Maintenance” Wife

You can go and ask The Husband but I’m really one “low maintenance” wife. The most expensive I wished from him was a laptop, but it’s something worthwhile..a necessity in my line of work. I don’t wish for branded and expensive bags (because I seldom go out anyway) nor luxurious travels..especially when I know that we don’t have the means. Or even if we have the funds, we’d think a gazillion times first if it’s the right time or should we allot the money instead to our topmost prioritized project which is Little Mansion. On special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas, the husband need not go through catalogs and find “unique gifts for her” stuffs because he already knows the simple things that would make me feel like I’m in Cloud 9: a book from my fave author, new shoes and apparels and a special dine out meal.

Busted Speedometer.

We drove yesterday morning to Banawe, a place in QC where suppliers of car accessories and auto parts abound. The van’s speedometer has been malfunctioning since the other week. It was just yesterday the mechanic had a time to drop by and discern what’s wrong. It turns out that the bearing and rubber (or whatever that is called) that makes it function has worn off. He says that the wear and tear of such part is expected to last not that long. Although the broken part won’t affect the engine and the van will run smoothly, it is recommended that it’d be replaced soon to eradicate the inconvenience of driving with a busted speedometer. Also, it’s for safety precautions. You wouldn’t know how fast you’ve been running without the meter, right?

And so, we looked for that part in Banawe yesterday but after checking out a number of open stores, we didn’t have one. That certain part’s out of stock. We could have readily bought one from other bigger stores but alas, it was a Sunday and most auto parts shops as well as the major distributor of that stuff were closed to business. So we decided to just drop by again next Saturday.

While checking out the auto parts shop, I was so overwhelmed how varied and how plenty of auto parts that there are. From the biggest to the smallest and even to the colorful and interesting parts like projector headlights, I was asking hubby to name them and what they are for. At first he gladly answered my queries but later he got tired and told me to just check out CarID.com’s site if I’m really interested to know. He says, it’s an online shop of auto accessories and parts and it has the most comprehensive galleries across all car makes and brand. I’m browsing the site now and he’s right. I also checked that they have the part we’re looking for. If only they are shipping internationally then our problem could have been solved.

First Time…Almost

If I didn’t decline my elder sister’s invitation earlier, I would have been in the new Resorts World by now eating a buffet dinner, window shopping at the iconic mall, marveling over the luxurious Maxims Hotel and probably playing one of the slot machines rvm in the world class and the country’s largest casino. Well, honestly I know nothing about casino gambling and all (except for the very easy to play slot machines) that’s why if I tagged along, I surely would have researched first over at CasinoScandinavia.com, a very informative site about gaming tips, online bonuses and reviews. Today would also have been my very first time to get inside a casino, play and who knows win the jackpot. That would be what they call the beginner’s luck…and of course, that would be nice.

But more than this curiosity, I’m actually more interested in seeing even just one of the luxurious rooms of the Maxims. I heard that it has a total of 172 all-suite rooms, each assigned with personal butler services and furnished with state-of-the-art facilities. But then, just the mere mention of terms “all-suite rooms” would only mean just one thing. It’s no brainer to realize that luxurious rooms mean steep and lavish prices, too. Just the perfect room for the lucky jackpot winner in the nearby casino.

An Option.

I really am thankful that I am able to work and earn at the comfort of our home and without having to leave my son behind. Looking back, my online writing job has indeed been instrumental in enabling us to put up some savings while the husband’s income is our main fuel for our everyday expenses. It’s doing good at the start of this year but not as great as the last quarter of 2009 which is actually not a good sign. This spells trouble and that means I have to double my effort in finding alternative ways to flourish my online gig or look for other means offline to earn on the side. I don’t think I’m ready to come back to the corporate world so that’s definitely out of the options. If only we can control everything but then again, in any kind of work or business, we have to deal with every uncontrollable factors that come our way. That is why it’s important to keep oneself abreast with the right business skills, attitude and know how to survive each and every undertaking in business. So aside from researching online means, I’m getting myself acquainted with lots of business opportunities like franchises Dallas, TX which I can hopefully make use or venture on in the near future. Who knows, I can finally apply the things I’ve learned in college and utilize my degree in business administration.

Someday

I just hopped over a friend’s blog and saw the pictures that she took of their House Blessing recently. I am so green-eyed that they already have their own place. Hubby knows how I’ve been hankering and looking forward to going home to a dwelling that we can call our own. Actually, we have laid our plans on that and we’ve started working on it. I just hope everything will fall into its place as planned. Even though I know that it will take a while before this materializes and can actually enjoy it, I can’t help but picture already how it would look like. I’ve started searching online for sites about designing interiors, cool home appliances, bedroom furniture, sectionals for the living room, and even home office furniture.

Even as a little kid, I’ve always dreamt of living and owning a mansion. When I played with my Barbies, I always imagined that she has this big house with several rooms including a big closet room in her bedroom, a big comfy modern white sectional sofa in the living room, an attractive and cozy bedroom furniture set, and an elegant dining room.

As they say, keep on dreaming, work on your dream and in no time, your dream will come true.

Busy Parrot

Not much yakety-yaks from the parrot.

Too busy with a lot of things.

I’m currently browsing my flickr gallery and I just realized that I haven’t uploaded or I barely don’t have new pictures to share. It seems that Nikky has been resting for quite some time now and is untouched for weeks already. Hmmm…this isn’t good.

Apart from me who’s been busy with the party preps, the husband has been so busy at work too. Anyway, don’t worry Nikky…we’ll have a bonding time real soon.

*Nikky is a Nikon D60 DSLR
